Hana Brock grew up and began her artistic career in rural Nebraska. After moving to Omaha, she learned to appreciate the mundanity of urban life. She specializes in large- scale oil paintings and explores the human connection to space by depicting realistic urban architecture. These unknowable histories inspire her to see structures as living, silently existing, and observing how we interact with them. Capturing these structures at night, stripped of human interaction, and incorporating artificial light is her way of further enhancing our connection to spaces. Brock is based in Omaha, working as a studio assistant for tapestry weaver Mary Zicafoose and as an Experience Associate at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.
