I’ve always been interested in making things from an early age. I would bounce around between hobbies searching for something that satisfied that need to create something. I really enjoyed the process but the final product was usually disappointing. When I was introduced to painting I finally found the process that satisfied that craving.
I use my camera to capture images of local street scenes, neon signs and nature with dramatic color and light. I use those images to paint all the things that attract me and I’m currently working on a series of vintage neon signs, toys and candy. I want to paint fun things that bring back great memories of my childhood. I love the process of painting detail, texture, light and color. I bounce around from painting to painting. It satisfies my need to make things!
I show my work at two local Omaha galleries. Anderson O'Brien Gallery, 3220 Farnam Street, and Gingers' Hang Up, 8455 Frederick Street. I also have work at the Front Four Gallery in Stowe, Vermont and Reuben Saunders Gallery, 3515 East Douglas Ave, Wichita Kansas.
